The Mishna Brura (51:17) teaches: "One should recite the Song of the Sea daily with joy. He should imagine as if he just today safely crossed the sea while all his pursuing enemies drowned. One who follows this procedure is forgiven all his transgressions." In the gemara Sanhedrin 91b Rabbi Yehua ben Levi said: "One who says Shira in this world, will merit to do so in the World to Come..."
Shevat 2 is the yahrtzeit (anniversary of the death) of Chassidic Rabbi Meshulam Zusha of Anipoli (1718?-1800). He was a disciple of the 2nd leader of the Chassidic movement, Rabbi Dov Ber of Mezeritch.
