because my soul is not a raisin

raisinsoul from the ashes!?!

Shalom Aleichem good friends and holy Yidden!

It's been a crazy month but I have finally finished my first sefer torah (Baruch Hashem, Hodo LaShem Key Tov, thank God, etc. etc.)

I got really busy and could not devote any time to raisinsoul. Sounds funny, right? I mean, of course we are always working on raisin' our soul but i was not up to posting during this time.

At first I felt awful about it but then I got used to staying away from "internet attraction", news, opinions, and all forms of virtual interaction. Now, I do not know what to do. Should I reignite the fire?

My wife says that I should get back to raisinsoul but I am not so sure. How many people were ever following this "blog"? I have no idea.

Truth is, that I always envisioned something a little more interactive, a virtual Conscious Community, à la Aish Kodesh. That was not what happened.

So who really needs this? Is it worth investing time posting for an unknown few? If you have any thoughts on the subject, please let me know. You can email me at: raisinsoul at gmail.

Ely and Abby, thanks for commenting.

Gut Shabbos and Shabbot Shalom to all.

D.A.

First of all, mazel tov on the completion of your Torah. Many more successful endeavors!

"Is it worth investing time posting for an unknown few?"

Even if you only managed to inspire ONE person with your writing (and I think you inspire many more than that), I believe it would be worthwhile to continue posting to your blog - provided that it doesn't detract from other important obligations...

Hatzlacha!

My vote is continue. In need some raisins (unexpected drops of sweetness) in my bowl of cereal (the dry and blandness of the majority of my feeds).

An unknown few perhaps reading it in real-time, but this is being filed away for eternity, to pop up on the screen of any human searching for the right combination of words or a certain answer only you have brought down. Certainly a worthwhile endeavor.

May you continue to write sifrei torah in such a wide variety of formats...

Major props on the Sefer Torah, sadly not too many Yidden have had the zchus of fulfilling that most important Mitzvah. While you have just completed one Torah, the תורה שבכתב, you still have much work ahead of you to complete your second Torah, the תורה שבעל פה, believe me when I say that this site is your own individual Oral Torah, expressing the Word of HaShem that resides within your heart & Soul. With any important endeavor the yetzer hara will try and make any excuse so that you do not complete it. The very fact that you have doubts and opposition is a sure sign how holy and worthwhile this project really is. So please stay the course, and you will accomplish amazing things, and inspire many Yidden. Your writing is too good not to succeed. Regardless of what you choose, I would like to thank you for all that you have done for us these past couple of months. It cannot be easy to invest so much time and effort into a project without knowing if anybody is even listening on the other end, but let me assure you, we are listening. Thank you very much and I wish you all the success in the world
