because my soul is not a raisin

be a mensch

The Shabbos before Pesach is called Shabbos HaGadol; the Shabbos before Yom Kippur is called Shabbos Shuva; if so, what is the Shabbos before Shavuos called? Shabbos Derech Eretz, because Derech Eretz comes before Torah.

the month of unity

Rosh Chodesh Sivan is distinguished as the day on which the Jewish people camped before Mount Sinai. In the verse, "And Israel camp before the mountain," the verb vayichan ("camped") is stated in a singular form (in contrast to the other verbs in the narrative). This reveals how the entire people camped "as one man, with one heart," expressing true unity. What brought about this unity? The fact that they were "before the mountain," close to the giving of the Torah.

a new counting

Parshas Bamidbar
excerpt from a discourse of the Biala Rebbe, shlita

waiting patiently

The Kotzker said that when Moshiach comes everyone will get their turn to speak to him. The line will be very long and at the end of the line will be him, the Kotzker.

He said that when his turn finally comes to speak to him, Moshiach will ask him, "Menachem Mendel, where have you been?!?" The Kotzker said that he will respond, "Rebbe, where have you been?!?"

for the sake of the children

The Shlah HaKadosh wrote, "A person must pray to have children and that Hashem provide them with all their needs and appropriate marriage partners. I believe that Erev Rosh Chodesh Sivan is the best time for this prayer because the Torah was given in Sivan and we are called 'Children of Hashem'."
